Today I held and cuddled my three month old granddaughter for a short time.  As I drove home I could smell her sweet baby smell on me and I couldn't help but smile and think of it as a precious snatched moment.

And then their were the hugs from her big sister and brother.  Hugs and sweet smells - they linger.

I love you to the moon and to the far off hills
          Your hugs and sweet smells
          Linger
          I smile at their memory
And can't wait to hold and hug you again.
I love you to the moon and to the far off hills.

A few days ago my son sent me a text asking if he and his daughter, Emma, could stop by. "Of course," I replied.  To which Emma exclaimed, "I knew she would say yes, because Grandma loves me.  Grandma loves all her grand kids."

And I'm overwhelmed at the quiet joy my grandchildren give me.
